Timezone bug in Aperture

I’ve got a user report that the time in the track log is one hour off when it is imported in Aperture 3.

After some troubleshooting and googling it turns out that there is a daylight savings time bug in Aperture that causes Aperture to miscalculate the offset from UTC/GMT (Universal Time, Coordinated) when daylight savings time is in use.

The workaround for this is to manually set the timezone using the GMT preset in Aperture. To manually set the timezone for a track log, open the GPS menu and select “Edit Track Timezone”.

1. Find the timezone offset that should be used. I live in Sweden, so for me it is Europe/Stockholm (GMT +02:00).
2. Select the same offset using the GMT preset. For me this will be GMT/GMT+2
3. Done
